Three steps from dispatch to POD

1. Assign

Point tracking at the right asset

Put the driver and a working cell number on the load if the phone will report GPS. Put an OBD-II unit on the tractor or an Oyster tracker on the trailer when the asset—not the handset—must ping. Send the mobile-app dispatch so the driver gets the load in Locate My Freight, or rely on the device if hardware is the tracker.

2. Watch

Map, ETA, and status

The dashboard shows where the freight is and how the ETA is moving. Updates follow the GPS interval your company set and only while the load is in a status that allows tracking. Shippers, brokers, and carriers can share that view without buying a TMS seat on locatemyfreight.com.

3. Finish

Documents close the load

Drivers upload POD, BOL photos, and other files from the app. Dispatchers see those attachments on the same load they have been watching. Tracking credits apply to the loads you choose to track; hardware is a one-time shop purchase.

What has to be true for the map to move

Blank maps are almost always setup, not a missing login on this website. Work the list in order before you replace a device.

Dispatch method

Mobile app, browser link, or hardware

Use the Locate My Freight app when the driver should install it. Use a driver web-app link when they should open a browser instead. Hardware reports on its own. MacroPoint is a separate tracking option when a company has that provider enabled—it is not what this shop sells.

Permission, data, and the right load

The driver must open the assigned load and allow location. No permission means no ping. See the driver app guide for App Store and Google Play links plus permission steps.

Interval and status

How often, and in which statuses

The GPS interval controls how often a ping is expected. Load status controls whether tracking is even allowed. If status is outside the allowed list, the tracking screen can show an invalid state until the load is moved back to a trackable status.

Asset GPS

When the phone will not be there

Trailers in a yard, drop-and-hook, and tractors that change drivers need OBD-II or Oyster hardware. Pair devices from the shop with the same dashboard you already use for phone tracking.

Credits, devices, and who to call

$50 starts an account with 15 tracking credits. $2 covers a one-day load. $4 covers a multi-day load. GPS hardware is sold separately in the shop. Full numbers live on prices.
