GPS tracking and the driver app

GPS tracking and the driver app

Locate My Freight tracks freight from a phone (iOS/Android app) or from GPS hardware on the truck or trailer. This article covers phone-based tracking.

To start GPS tracking on a load:

  1. In Settings, turn on Smart Phone Dispatch.
  2. Assign the driver to the load.
  3. Send the driver the tracking message (E-Carrier Conf / mobile dispatch). If the Locate My Freight app is not installed, the link opens the app store. If it is installed, the app asks for location permission and tracking begins.

Use the Google Maps control on the load to see the live location. Updates continue until the load is delivered. Drivers can also update status, scan documents, and attach photos.

If location does not appear: confirm location permission on the phone, confirm the driver opened the link, or call 631-724-9400. Hardware (OBD-II or trailer GPS) is for assets that should track even when a phone is off. Hardware is sold in the shop.
