Using the web app for location, status, and POD

The web app is a browser tool so a driver can share location, mark status, and upload proof of delivery without installing the mobile app. The mobile app is the real-time GPS option; the web app is manual updates in any browser. There is no extra tracking-credit charge for the web app.

Default to the web app

  1. Go to Settings → Configuration Options.
  2. Find Mobile Dispatch Settings.
  3. Select Web App and save.

If the mobile app is the default, you can still choose Web App when you send the driver the tracking link (the dashboard control may still be labeled Mobile Rate Con).

Send a tracking link

  1. Open the load in the tracking dashboard. Red notices such as “No GPS Data Found” or “Driver App NOT Installed” mean live phone tracking is not running yet.
  2. Confirm the driver name and phone on the load, then save.
  3. Open the mobile dispatch / tracking-link control and choose Web App.
  4. Email or text the link to the driver. You can edit the message before it sends.

What the driver does

  1. Open the link in a browser, agree to the terms, enter their name, and continue.
  2. Allow browser location, then tap Send GPS Location for a manual update.
  3. Mark status such as Arrived, Departed, or Delivered. Times can be edited if a tap was a mistake.
  4. Use Attach Photo/Doc to upload a signed bill of lading or POD.

Refresh the load to see status and map location. A caution icon usually means a bad address, which throws off ETA. Uploaded files appear under View/Attach Files.

If location fails

The driver must enable browser location and have a working data connection. For always-on GPS, use the mobile app or hardware from the shop.
